Droobi Health case study

Droobi Health – Discovery workshop for a web portal for doctors

Droobi Health Technology was created from a simple idea to integrate technology, healthcare professionals, data analytics and the science of behavior change to help people with diabetes manage their disease more effectively.

We designed and developed a robust digital solution which is integrated with Apple healthkit, J&J one touch glucometer along with chat and video chat features.

Due to app usage, patients reported an average weight loss of 2.7 kg and a 76% reduction in their A1C levels, indicating significantly improved health.

Start your projects right with a product discovery workshop

The Discovery Workshop is an engagement focused on helping you streamline your product development roadmap. It enables you to validate requirements, confirm the use case, and lock features, deliverables, & costs, so you can complete your project while staying within your timeline & budget. Here’s what you will get in less than 6 weeks:

User stories and requirements document

A detailed document highlighting all the features of the product that is to be developed.

Clickable prototypes & mockups

An interactive set of UI/UX designs to help you better understand and visualize what the end product would look like.

Technical evaluation of the project

Identify high-risk technical challenges, with suggestions for the best solution, technology stack and architecture.

Delivery plan, schedule, and cost

Get a detailed document with your project plan outlining the cost & delivery timeline and the team composition.

A discovery process based on best practices & methodologies that deliver

A good solution discovery is an iterative process designed to resolve problems and continually improve your product to make it the best it can be. Use the right tools and battle-tested approach and methodologies to keep enhancing your product to deliver ultimate user experiences.

Design sprint

A Design Sprint is the fastest way to answer critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers:

  • Product vision & roadmap
  • Stakeholders alignment
  • User personas & core user flows
  • A minimal clickable prototype
  • Preliminary visual design

Extensive prototyping

Our Business Analysts & UI/UX team develop extensive clickable prototypes for you, based on the findings of the Design Sprint:

  • Hi-fidelity mockups
  • Interactive prototypes

Business case

The business case or blueprint provides a clear roadmap for your product development journey from start to finish. It usually includes the following:

  • Feature list
  • Technical architecture
  • Development roadmap
  • Cost estimates

The sprint is a five-day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping and testing ideas with customers. Developed at Google, it’s a ‘greatest hits’ of business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, and more—packaged into a battle-tested process that any team can use.

Working together in a sprint, one can shortcut the endless debate cycle and compress months of ideation time into a single week. Instead of waiting to launch a minimal product to understand if an idea is any good, you will get clear data from a realistic prototype. The sprint gives you a superpower: you can fast-forward into the future to see your finished product and customer reactions, before making any expensive commitments.

Here’s how five days of the design sprint are scheduled:

Day 1: Understand

We start by getting deep insights about the user needs, business needs, and technology capabilities. This discussion is essential to creating a roadmap for the sprint week.

Day 2: Sketch

Visualize the customer’s problem & how they will use the product. We will review the strengths & weaknesses in existing solutions & do exercises to build new insights & solutions.

Day 3: Decide

We will critique each solution in relation to the main sprint goal. Based on the selected ideas, we will sketch a step-by-step roadmap for building a prototype.

Day 4: Prototype

Create a simple model and guidelines for testing. The main assumption here is that you will only build the customer-facing surface of your product or service.

Day 5: Validate

This phase is the “moment of truth”. This is when you test the ideas with users, business stakeholders, and technical experts and hear direct feedback from them.

Before jumping on product development, there needs to be a clear and precise scope, defined budget, requirements, timeline, and a multitude of other variables. This is important so all the project stakeholders and the product teams are aligned, and on the same page, with respect to the project outcomes, and exactly what needs to be achieved and how.

We use Product Discovery Workshops to carefully define business goals, project roadmap, target audience, strategies to suit the needs of the user personas, trace out user journeys, and map out the technologies and functionalities that will be required for the product development. After all these details are finalized, the next step is to decide the KPIs for the success of the product and how those are measured. It is essential to have a rough structure in place in order to deliver a fully functional solution.

This is where you, as our client, will get in touch with our team, and we sit together to discuss the product in detail, the processes we’ll follow and the services we’ll offer to you as part of our journey together. We’ll explain the project to you, understand your requirements and expectations when it comes to the needs of your customers or users.

There would be an interactive discussion wherein you’ll actively participate and also act as a devil’s advocate when highlighting the problems and challenges that could occur during the product development lifecycle. It is important for you to be involved in the process because you know your customers the best, you know your business and you know what’s required, and precisely, this is exactly what’ll define a direction for us to follow, in terms of project scope and structure.

After the discovery workshop, you’ll be given a blueprint, which is a document containing all the minutes and conclusions of the Product Discovery Workshop. Once we are done with the workshop as well as the initial research, we can begin implementing the developed plan. By this time, generally, we have answers to all major queries about the project itself, production details and execution plans. So we hand over the blueprint to you and then proceed with the development of the complete product.

FAQs about discovery workshops

Here we answer the most common and frequent questions asked by our clients and prospects.

The Product Discovery Workshop(s) at VentureDive usually lasts 2-5 days, depending on the nature of your project, i.e. scope, feature list, complexity, etc. Reducing the number of days would mean having to cut corners on the discussions. That, in our experience, would result in unexpected delays in the project timeline, dragging the project to months and months of development time. This could be reduced to a few weeks if a thorough Product Discovery Workshop is held prior to development.

We consider the Product Discovery Workshop to be an essential part of the project. Since it offers tangible outcomes that help deliver an MVP, we consider it as official, pre-development consulting work, and hence, we charge a fee for it.

It totally depends on the scope of the project. If your product is simple, with a few requirements, a detailed brief may be enough. A discovery workshop, then, would be a plus. In the case of more complex products with an intricate feature set, a discovery workshop becomes essential for both teams to fully understand the product design roadmap.

At VentureDive, we understand that each business problem is unique and requires a distinct approach to the solution. That’s why we always begin with a free consultation with one of our experts, before diving into the solution discovery process.

During that session, our goal is to fully understand your project requirements, empathise with the pain points you are looking to address, and lay down different solutions we feel would be a perfect fit for you. You will also get a fair idea about our culture and what it would be like to partner with VentureDive and establish a long-term relationship built on trust, empathy, and a strong business acumen.
